Buying A Van With A
Guaranteed Buy Back
Hiring a sleepervan for a lengthy holiday can be very expensive. The alternative is to buy it, with a guaranteed buyback. I will sell you a van and, if you want, when you are ready to leave, you sell it back to me at a pre-arranged price.
Important note: These are not the sort of crappy old smokers and bangers that you see on hostel noticeboards or being peddled by dodgy unlicensed dealers at car fairs and on-line auction sites. They are checked and serviced and come with an AA checksheet for you to see. You get a breakdown warranty and the security of knowing where I live.
There are two ways you can buy a vehicle:
Optional Buyback: You buy the van off me at the full price. When you are finished with it you can either sell it to someone else, or bring it back to me and I will buy it back at the agreed price. You can arrange your own insurance, or I can arrange it for you. If you want breakdown cover I can arrange that, too.

Compulsory buyback: With this deal you buy the van on a nominal deposit. At the end of the contractual period you must sell it back to me. You do not have to pay the full price at the beginning of the contract. You pay a monthly fee for the time you use the vehicle. That fee is collected in advance. At the end of the deal you may, of course, negotiate to complete the purchase of the vehicle and a substantial part of the monthly fees already paid will be credited towards the purchase price. The monthly fee includes insurance, breakdown cover and tax.
